El Capitan High School

Start Smart Poster: The California Highway Patrol is now hosting a free start smart driver safety education class for teenagers and their parents/guardians. Classes are held monthly and are designed to: Help newly and future licensed teenage drivers understand the responsibilities associated with driving a motor vehicle, show how a poor choice behind the wheel can change the lives of everyone involved, reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to motor vehicle collisions. All El Capitan students must take this program prior to parking on the school campus. Look for an email at the beginning of the school year with information regarding dates, time, and how to sign up. For further information, please email Debbie Smith at debsmith@guhsd.net or (619) 938-9264.

If you plan on driving to school and parking at El Capitan, you must attend one Start Smart Class with a parent or guardian BEFORE you will be given your parking permit.

Time: check in beginning at 6:15 pm; class begins at 6:30 pm.

Where: PE Building Team Room C
