PTSA Board Meetings

PTSA board meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Library (subject to change). Meetings are open to all.

What is El Capitan PTSA?

The PTSA at El Capitan is a group of parents, teachers and students advocating for all students. This guide summarizes the PTSA programs and includes the school phone numbers, a bell schedule, PTSA calendar, and phone directory. Keep this directory of information handy throughout the year.


Communication Headquarter: integrate school information through the Grapevine newsletter, meetings, forums, PTSA web page, and e-mail updates. 
Student Participation: encourage students to hold positions on our PTSA board and committees. 
Parent Volunteers on Campus: help develop and coordinate a program for parent volunteers on campus.


To support and speak on behalf of all children and youth in schools, in the community and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
To promote parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

“Look Within”

That’s the theme for the 2019-2020 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. And California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.
All El Capitan students are invited to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas:
  • Dance Choreography
  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Film Production
  • Music Composition

$5.50 of each membership goes to district, state and national PTA, but any amount above stays at El Capitan High School to help fund our educational enrichment programs. By joining PTSA you support our programs as well as State and National levels of PTA that advocate for all students. Even if you can’t volunteer at El Capitan, by joining PTSA you are supporting our school.
