Dena Rosenberger, Paul Hedberg, and Sandy Martinez
On Wednesday, June 5, Ms. Rosenberger was recognized with a plaque and $100 check at the annual Awards Banquet at the Bahia Hotel in Mission Bay, in appreciation of all she does to exemplify and promote excellence in the science profession.
Ms. Rosenberger’s accomplishments stood out in a very accomplished and competitive group of nominees. She has participated in numerous scientific expeditions that have provided her students with a glimpse of wild and diverse regions of our earth including both the North and South Poles, the Costa Rican Rain Forest, and ocean bottom drilling to name a few. One class was able to Skype with her while she was on board her most recent expedition off the shore of Costa Rica. Other previous trips included daily logs and blogs to keep her students apprised of the research that was being undertaken.
Ms. Rosenberger has garnered many awards over the course of her career including the Golden Apple Award, Teacher of the Year and the Outstanding Chemistry Teacher awards.
We thank the San Diego Science Educators Association’s selection of Ms. Rosenberger for their prestigious award, which recognizes her perseverance in educating and inspiring students in the field of science
